In the future, the creation of value will be digital, connected, sustainable, and client focused. This in turn is fundamentally changing the environment of companies and organizations.
In this context, it will not be sufficient for them to exclusively focus on their own expertise. Instead, organizations will succeed if they are part of a service ecosystem from which they draw resources and for which they provide services.
In the research field "Service Ecosystems", we investigate methods and procedures that enable companies to establish service-oriented ecosystems and use them for their own development. This also involves the ability to systematically change perspectives in order to assess and evaluate the opportunities for cross-company and cross-sector cooperation.
Our research connects the insights of foundational research, such as network and systems theory, with application-oriented approaches, which we use to establish and develop service-oriented ecosystems.
